A Craft Wall for the Little Artist

Christmas time was around the corner and I was clueless on what to get my 11 year old daughter. She is at that point in her life where she doesn't really care about toys anymore and has become heavily into her arts and crafts. Duct tape and sharpies were at the top of her Christmas list, but I wanted to do something more. I began looking online for some ideas, and that's when it hit me. Her room, just as most 11 year old's rooms, was a mess. Her entire desk was full of duct tape, washi tape, makers, colored pencils, everything and anything arts and crafts that you could think of. Savannah was always great and trying to keep things organized, but the problem is that she just never had enough space to actually complete that task. That's when the light bulb went on. She needed storage space. Something to organize it all, but also be contained. She needed......a craft wall!

Thanks to my lovely and extremely handy boyfriend, we started putting the plans together. First step - We went to lowes and bought a pegboard. We then went and found some wood to frame it, as well as a pegboard hook kit that had more than enough for what I was looking to do. When we got home, we spray painted the frame and then began nailing it all together. It was very easy to put together, and a ton of fun setting it all up when it was complete. I had a bunch of mason jars lying around as well as some baby food jars, so we spray painted those to use for storing her miscellaneous crafting tools. In the end, it turned out even better than I had imagined. The best part - seeing my daughter's face on Christmas when she walked into her room and saw her new craft wall.
